Movement Practice Intensive 2025

Nil Teisner and Wil Brown are collaborating once again, with an Intensive Practice Week in Lisbon!

After their recent popular workshop in London, Nil Teisner (Finding Flow) and Wil Brown (Figuring Things Out) will collaborate on a 5 day practice Intensive together in Lisbon this Febuary and share about their practice and mutual research.

During the Practice Intensive we will explore dynamically each day. There will be a minimum of 20hrs of practice, with opportunity for extra exploration outside of this. We are really excited to share this experience in Lisbon, due to the vast and immersive environment on offer. You will gain access to different aspects of our movement practices and gain exciting perspectives, tools and insights that you can integrate into your own practice.

Elements and methods from acrobatics, locomotion, floorwork, dance, partner work, parkour, plyometrics, physical conditioning, falling practice and other areas that influence and inspire both Nil and Wil’s practice will be introduced and interwoven.

"Individually, we are one drop. Together, we are an ocean." – Ryunosuke Satoro

The following content will be presented individually during the workshop as well as linked together. The exact content will be chosen spontaneously, as both Nil and Wil like to work with the energy of the group and set an authentic process in motion.

Internal Practice / Zero Pointing:

The role of breathing, meditation and mindset in movement and how we can use these tools in our practice. Here, body awareness and body experience are at the forefront and guide the learning process.

Strength in Context:

Learn the minimal effective dose approach to build confidence across diverse movement scenarios. How can strength training enrich not only our sense of confidence but also nourish other practices like acrobatics or parkour?

Risk and Fear in Motion:

Explore parkour-inspired techniques to safely navigate fear, develop trust, and build a simple method to confront and grow from fear.

Learn rolling and falling techniques, test them in playful ways and integrate them into acrobatic exploration.

Creative Practice Toolkit:

Deepen your creative practice with powerful concepts, ideas and scores. Learn how to play effortlessly with acrobatic forms, gravity and your own imagination.

Posture & Pendulum Dynamics: Unlock free energy and efficiency by mastering this movement principle.

Redirection Mechanisms: Learn how to navigate momentum and steer it like a ship in the ocean.

Elastic Flow: Upgrade your bodies springs, find explosive bursts of energy – all while staying in an effortless and relaxed state.

If you are interested in joining this event, please send a short application (introduction to you, your practice and intention as well as hopes/desires/expectations towards the intensive) to movementpracticeintensive@gmail.com

You will receive all payment details upon booking.

Participation can not be cancelled but transferred up to 24h before the event. The transfer must be communicated via email to movementpracticeintensive@gmail.com

Skills Level

Open Level:

To participate in the intensive you don’t need any special acrobatic skills, you don’t need to be particularly agile or overly strong. However, you should have an active movement practice – which style doesn’t matter. Please remember that we will be moving intensively for many hours over many days. Also, for this event it is expected that one has the willingness to try something unfamiliar, to show openness to novel experiences.

All participants of past events do not have to worry about repetitive material: the workshop is being revisited and updated frequently. While basic material will be taught in this one as well, Nil and Wil offer a great range of variations for all experience levels.

Price

  • 630€ Early Bird*, 700€

  • Portuguese Locals: 570€

  • Movement Lisboa Students: 520€ Early Bird*, 575€ Regular

    * If you sign up with us before January 26th, we offer a 10% early bird discount.

The fee covers the practice sessions and teaching. Accommodation, travel and food have to be paid by each participant on their own.

MOVEMENT

The movement workshops are designed to support the overall experience of the trip. In the retreat we will look at work that supports and gives energy, in order to fully embrace the experience of climbing outdoors. The intensive will contain more intense training, in order to really dive deeper and provide attendees with knowledge and tips to take away and work with in the future.

There are no physical requirements for the movement workshops, just an open mind and a bit of effort! We have various locations that we can use for the worshops, depeding on the theme and group size.

I’d never climbed outdoors or with gear before - but Wil and Marco made me feel comfortable and safe right away. The group atmosphere and the perfect location mean I’ll be going here for every year from now on! Thanks guys!

Banger of a trip. All the best things combined: climbing, good food and good people. 10/10 would recommend.
— Roxanne
A superb adventure abroad, well organised and personalised. Went in with little to no expectations and came out with a wholesome experience, new friends and as a better climber than when I left. Thanks to Will and Marco who made this an excellent trip in a beautiful location with stunning views and wonderful locals. Warm, welcoming, definitely worth a return visit.
